Yet Another Day...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 05:11 AM on July 5, 2006.

Hello kids,

No, that's not a mirage you're seeing.  It's really me.  My husband had the bright idea of having a cookout at our house.  Do I need to tell you I'm bored out of my mind?  Ryan and I are in the house enjoying the ac while everyone else is out in the pool.  I'm antisocial and she's nearly 8 months pregnant...and antisocial.

Currently, my evil spawn are getting my nice wood floors soaked. J has decided it's fun to scare the crap out of her little brother and chase him around the house...my girl Asha and I are looking at them like they're crazy.  She's starting to look more like James than Ryan, but she still has those gorgeous blue eyes like her mother.

The ass monkey (Kevin's girlfriend) lost the baby.  As a woman who has gone through a miscarriage, and seeing one of my best friends go through one...I have to have the tiniest bit of sympathy for her, but not that much.  I'm still relieved for J's sake.  She won't have a sibling out there she'll never have a decent relationship with....not yet anyway.

And I Thought My Life Was All About Drama...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 09:52 AM on July 14, 2006.

Scott and I were invited to an early dinner at Ryan and James' house today.  James' parents ended up paying them an impromptu visit and stayed for dinner as well...much to Ryan's dismay.  I'm sure I've metioned it before, but they can't stand her.  They never wanted James to marry her and their certainly pissed off that he's now tied to her forever by their child (soon to be children).  What's really fucked up about it is that they take that out on Asha.  They treat her slightly better than Kevin's mother treats J...they at least ask how she's doing and send a present or two on holidays.  They're the ones missing out; Asha is a seriously cool kid.

But anyway, back to dinner.  Scott and I were a little stunned by how badly they treated Ry in her own home...and James didn't say a word.  Even more shocking, Ryan didn't either.  They talk to her like she's an idiot when they bother to address her at all.  She just sat there looking like she was one snarky comment away from crying.  That's not the Ryan I know, but she knows how much James wants things to be smooth with his parents so she doesn't say anything.

For some reason his parent still think she's using him.  Sure she has her spoiled brat moments, and she's truly and asshole sometimes...but she loves the hell out of that man.  She told me that out of all the relationships she's had...he's the first and only man she's ever been in love with.  If that's not real I don't know what is.  I can't even say that about Scott.  I've been in love with him for most of my life, but I can't say he's the only man I've ever loved (if that were true, J wouldn't be here).

At some point James is going to have to put his parents in their place.  They don't respect Ry as it is, and they're never going to if he keeps letting their actions slide.

In a Blantant Attempt to Ruin My Plans...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 01:44 PM on July 20, 2006.

I've spent all this time trying to plan the most debauched babyshower (that isn't for the baby at all) ever for Ryan...and now I get to cancel it all.  She just loves to ruin things for me, so this morning she said "hey self, I should go into labor today just so AJ has to cancel the baby shower"....and that's what she did.  That bitch.

Oh well, the good news is that as of 12:06 am, I became proud godmother to yet another genetically fortunate little girl:

First Name:  Brody-James (yes, all of that is her first name)

Middle Name: Kaila (pronounced like Kyla)

Weight: *7 lbs. 3 oz.

Length: 20.5 inches

I just talked to James and he informed me that both Ryan and Brody are sleeping soundly, and he's exhausted but can't take his eyes off of either of them.

Happy birthday, Brody!  Welcome to the world, babe.

*Apparently I was halfway to dreamland when I posted this, I originally had 6 lbs there, but she was indeed 7.

Welcome to the Jungle...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 02:17 PM on July 23, 2006.

Scott and I went to see the new arrival today.  The fact that it took us a whole two days after she was born to swing by the hospital probably makes us horrible godparents, but we wanted to let James and Ryan have their alone time with her first.  She's soooo beautiful...not at all surprising considering who her parents are.

I love Ryan, that's a given, but I love James too...we've actually become very good friends over the past year, so I can tell when he's worried...and he's very worried about Ryan right now.  She wasn't looking so good today.  Granted she just gave birth and she's in pain right now...but this is different.  I think her heart condition is acting up again.  She was really cold and shaky, even though the room was comfortable to everyone else.  James said she fainted a couple of times.  I can tell she wasn't feeling well at all...she didn't call me a filthy whore once.

It would kill him if anything ever happened to her.  He loves her more than anything in the world.  We didn't have time to talk much, but I told him not to worry.  She's strong, and more importantly she's stubborn as hell.  She'll be fine.

On a lighter note...a nurse was hitting on Scott.  I would normally be unphased, but for some reason I was getting pissed today.  I suppose I was just feeling a tad territorial...she's lucky I did't smack her in the face with a bed pan.

Skeet Ulrich is back...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 04:59 AM on July 27, 2006.

Scott heard his dream girl (Ashley Scott) was in a new show, so of course he managed to download the pilot and forced me to watch it (not that I'm against watching things with Ashely Scott...she was the Huntress after all). It was a little cliche, but I still thought it was interesting.

Skeet Ulrich plays the small town guy who has been away for years, he comes back (to Jericho, Kansas) to visit his family and try to convince his father to give him the money his grandfather left him.  As is requisite for this kind of show...he runs into his ex-girlfriend (played by Scott).  They don't outright say she's his ex-girlfriend but you can tell...you kind of get the impression he left her by the way she says her current fiancee loves it in that town.

To make a potentially long story short, everyone sees mushroom clouds off in the distance around the town, the power goes out...Skeet never makes it out of town, and of course Ashley's fiancee was out of town and she never made it to the airport to pick him up.

I see this going one of two places...Skeet's character is going to move on with the hot teacher he met while saving a school bus full of children, or he's going to reconcile with grieving ex-girlfriend.  If they try to make it really interesting...grieving ex-girlfriend will be pregnant by missing fiancee and he'll have to choose between her and forever grateful hot teacher.

Side note...

Ryan seems to be feeling a little better...she called me a skanky bitch today.  I love her.

Ok, everybody knows that I know my Beverly Hills 90210.  Nobody could kick my ass in 90210 trivia...so tell me why I didn't make the connection between 90210 and Charles in Charge.  Remeber the super hot blonde chick with the really short hair who played Camille on the last season or so of 90210? That's Josie Davis...the younger sister from Charles in Charge.  Six degress of Scott Baio anyone?

Catching Up...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 01:32 PM on July 30, 2006.

Ok...anyone who says Lauren Graham doesn't deserve an Emmy needs a good kick in the teeth.  Seriously.  I just watched Season 6, Episode 22 and I want to strangle Luke...and hug Lorelai.  Once again Lauren Graham put heart and soul into her performance.  Lorelai was standing there pouring her heart out to him and all he could say was "I don't like ultimatums".  Her "yeah, well, I don't like Mondays" comeback was 100% Lorelai.

Luke just isn't the guy he used to be.  He was a total asshole to Lorelai in the episode with April's birthday party, but she helped him anyway.  She has gone above and beyond...she's been more than accommodating.  After that birthday party, he knows that April likes Lorelai...so what's the problem now?  If Luke and Lorelai were married, the April situation would have to work itself out anyway.  Lorelai has been waiting long enough and it's not fair of him to keep stringing her along.

Now on to Christopher...

In a weird turn of events, I actually loved the Christopher moments...especially the one with him and Lorelai in the bathroom at her parents house.  There was obvious hinting at him and Lorelai getting back together (ie. the way he lovingly stroked her arm, her "I've got your back, I know you've always got mine" line).  The only Christopher related gripe I have is that he told GiGi she was her "Aunt Lorelai".  Dude, you should never describe anyone you've obviously had sex with as aunt anything to your kid (GiGi asking if Lor was sick because she wasn't wearing her nightgown was cute though).  I may be alone here, but I would love to see her get together with Christopher permanently.  Come on, it's perfect...money's not an issue for Chris anymore, Lor has her Inn, they already share one kid...it's the perfect situation.

I have nothing bad to say about Rory and Logan...nothing good either.  They're just so blah to me.

Side note...Is Lauren Graham pregnant?  The changes in her wardrobe are certainly causing suspicion.  She has been very burgeoning belly friendly with the wardrobe...lots of wrap dresses.  If she is, that would certainly explain her speech about not wanting to wait to get married anymore because she wants another kid.  She has definitely gained some weight...but it could be just that.

Ramdom but still semi-related...

The blonde chick from John Tucker Must Die (which looks like the stupidest movie since Into the Blue by the way, but I love Sophia Bush)...isn't that the girl that played Lindsay (Dean's wife)?

The troubadors taking over Stars Hollow was pretty good.  I was totally psyched when I saw Kim and Thurston from Sonic Youth making an appearance (the girl pretending to play bass is their daughter).

I fear my dear Gilmore Girls now have a dark cloud of impending doom hovering over them...season 7 will most likely be its last.

Tea...yeah, we definitely have things to discuss.  I need to be filled in on episode 18, I can't seem to find it on bittorrent.
