Hello Kids...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 11:19 AM on September 26, 2006.

Yeah, yeah...I know.  I disappeared on you again.  Sorry!  It wasn't my fault this time.  I still live in the 7th circle of techie hell you know.  This time my phone line (and thus, my dsl) went out for a frickin' month...a whole month!  Good old Verizon....and you know what their excuse was?  They have a shortage of technicians in my area.  And that's my problem how?  Oh well, at least I won't have a phone bill next month.

I've been busy anyway.  We all know how I love my tv, and I've been fully engrossed in premieres for the past couple of weeks.  I was extremely pleased with SVU last week.  Mariska Hargitay looked as gorgeous as ever.  There was this one moment where she pushes her sunglasses on top of her head and it pulls her hair back from her face...that woman is beautiful, and no one should ever doubt it.  Pregnancy treated her very well.

They should really consider bringing Marcia Gay Harden on full time.  Her character is great, and it gives Liv another female to play off of (Casey is sadly underused).   I'm all for voting Ice T off the island if space is an issue.  He's only useful for a good laugh during chase scenes (he's horrible...I could outrun him in 4 inch Valentino boots).

The only down side was watching poor Liv schlep around in that frickin winter coat, when we all know it wasn't cold outside...they just couldn't think of a more creative way to hide her pregnancy.  Overall it was a great episode...I just don't know how I'll make it through six episodes without my darling Olivia though.

Other than SVU...I also watched the series premiere of Jericho (which I had actually already seen), CSI, House, and ER (which I thoroughly regret).  Even though I don't agree with the "once again, Catherine gets in trouble at a bar" storyline, I wasn't disappointed.  It was standard CSI fare with a good twist ending.  Damn Cath, damn.  All of this Grissom/Sara relationship crap is freaking me out though.  I never saw them as a couple, and really, who the hell wants to?  House was exactly what you'd expect from House, no complaints there.  ER must die...now.  That's all I'll say about that.

My two most anticipated shows haven't premiered yet, but it's getting close.  I can't wait.  Oh...that's Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars for  those who were wondering.

Valentino Napa Knee BootFeel free to drool with me.  Have I mentioned I love my husband?  I LOVE my husband.  Scott is an awesome, awesome man.  My new babies are on their way, and I already have the perfect outfit in mind for them.  I'm willing to forgive his cowboy shirt obsession for this.  He might actually get some!...and I'll be wearing the boots.

Of all the Hollywood Breakups...

Posted by SuburbanGirl at 12:20 PM on September 30, 2006.

I'm most surprised by Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro....but not at all surprised by Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.  Why not?  Because I watched Newlyweds on a fairly regular basis.  That's why.

Ok, so we all know MTV gets pretty creative with the editing for the sake of making things interesting...but not even the great MTV is good enough to turn Nick into a complete asshole if he didn't actually have that particular personality trait.  They might have played it up a little, but they didn't create it.

How long did they date before they got married?  Several years wasn't it?  He had to know what he was getting into. Jessica is not the brightest crayon in the box...I know that, you know that, Beelzebub knows that...Nick knew that.  Yet he said "I do" and put that ring on her finger anyway.  Despite that, he spent both seasons of that show calling her an idiot and acting all frustrated about it.  Dude, were you even paying attention while you were dating her? or was your mind too preoccupied with figuring out how you were going to get her to give up the goods?  I think he just followed through on the marriage just so he could finally get rid of the blue balls.

I'm far from a Jessica Simpson fan, but I often felt sorry for the woman.  When he wasn't acting like her underpaid nanny, he was acting like she wasn't shit to him at all.  Remember the episode where Jessica was doing a photo shoot for her bath/body product line and she got sick?   I was appalled by how he treated her in that episode.  She was literally crawling back to their hotel room and her mom said to him: "you might have to carry her."  His punk ass just looked down at his wife crawling on the damn floor and kept strolling. Asshole.

Nobody should have to tell you to pick your wife up off the floor.  I don't doubt that Jessica was being a drama queen about it...generally, if you're so sick you can't walk, you're probably too sick to crawl too.  That's irrelevant though.  If the woman you love is feeling any sort of discomfort, you should be doing whatever you can to comfort her...even if she is milking the hell out of it.

Maybe my friends and I have it too good.  Maybe our men are exceptions to the rule.  Scott barely lets me lift a finger when I'm feeling great...he certainly wouldn't let me crawl on a floor.  Nick is disgusting.  It's a good thing they didn't have any kids.
